This lamp was created as a first year project exploring the concept of Epiphites - plants that depend on other plants to grow. This was to mimic how children depend on their parents, as the pendant is intended to hang in the entranceway of a young family home.
It had an extra hidden element too, a pattern only visible once the light is turned on.
The lamp is made from a single sheet of lazercut polypropylene, and uses no fastenings or glue. The stitching detail is achieved with thin strips of polypropylene.
